About the Surgeons
Each of our physicians is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, having passed rigorous written and oral examinations. Every year each completes many hours of continuing professional education. Our surgical group is active with:
 Herbert W. Ridyard Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S. joined the Windham Surgical Group in 1985. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College, summa cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa.
He finished his post-graduate medical education at Pennsylvania State University and his general surgery residency in 1985 at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Ridyard is very active at Windham Hospital and most recently completed a 2 year term as the Chief of the Medical Staff.  David A. Kloss, M.D., F.A.C.S. received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, cum laude. Dr. Kloss also attended Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania for his postgraduate medical education.
His general surgery residency was completed in 1991 at the Staten Island University hospital in New York City. Dr. Kloss was in the United States Air Force reserves for 10 years and was an active duty surgeon at Offut Air Force base in Omaha, Nebraska from 1991 through 1994. He joined the Windham Surgical Group in 1994. He currently is the chief of General Surgery at Windham Community Hospital and is the chairman of the endoscopic services committee. Leszek Kolodziejczak, M.D., F.A.C.S. completed his postgraduate medical training at the Medical School of Poznan in Poland and his general surgery residency at Hartford Hospital. He received the Resident of the Year award in both his 4th and 5th years of residency.
He then completed a two year specialized fellowship in Surgical Oncology and Endoscopy at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. His expertise in surgical oncology (cancer management) has greatly enhanced the versatility of the Windham Surgical Group greatly. Dr. Kolodziejczak joined our group in 1996. |
